Advocates for American business in the age of AI.
We help American companies uncover additional value in what they have already built, and make sure they are paid for it. From there, we help them adapt how they operate and how they show up in a marketplace that is changing faster than it has in a century.
What we stand for
Businesses deserve full value for what they have built.
Every business holds hard-won knowledge: how work gets done, how problems get solved, how teams deliver results. That knowledge has real and growing value in today's economy, and the businesses that created it deserve to be represented, protected, and compensated fairly.
- Protection first. Everything we facilitate is fully anonymized. Trade secrets, intellectual property, and individual privacy are protected. We never deal in consumer or personal data.
- Fair compensation. Value earned from a business's knowledge belongs to that business, to reinvest, to take care of its people and their families, and to build its future.
- No one left behind. American companies of every size, especially in overlooked and underserved places, deserve access to the tools and knowledge shaping the next decade.
- Our fee comes from the buyer's side. Never out of what the business earns, and never through a chain of people standing between them and the value they created.
- We tell you the truth about timing. Including when the honest answer costs us the engagement.
Services
Three ways we advocate for your business.
Most companies start in one and find their way to the others.
Operational knowledge
The way your teams work, from your processes and workflows to your accumulated know-how, is worth real money right now. The AI labs trained on the public internet and finished it. What they need next is how real businesses actually run.
Many companies are contributing that without knowing, and without being paid. We find out what you hold and connect you with qualified buyers.
AI readiness
The operating environment is changing faster than any business can track alone, and too many capable American companies are being overlooked. Most of what is written about AI is noise, and the advice that is real was written for the Fortune 500.
We tell you which of it applies to you, and connect you with the right partner from our network to do the work. Where we are the right fit, we do it ourselves.
Market presence
A hundred years ago you needed to be on Main Street. Then it was search rankings, then social. Now AI agents are beginning to drive shopping behavior, which is a new frontier for what location, location, location means.
We help you find out how your company currently appears to those systems, fix what they are reading, and tell your story where the market is going.
Who we serve
If a business holds value, we work to realize it.
Owners and operators
Small and mid-sized businesses that want to know what their operational knowledge is worth, get AI-ready, or reach the market in new ways.
Businesses in transition
Companies going through change or wind-down that hold assets they never counted, and want to realize the most value from them.
Fiduciaries and advisors
Trustees, receivers, business brokers, and attorneys working to recover value on behalf of a business or its creditors.
Referred by someone we know
Most of our work begins with an introduction. If someone sent you here, we would be glad to talk.
Protection
How your business is protected.
This is about how companies operate. It is never about people.
- Not consumer data, not personal information. Not your customers, not your employees. Any engagement that would require it is one we decline.
- Anonymization happens before anything moves. Identities are removed and kept consistent throughout, so the operational pattern survives and the identifying detail does not.
- Nothing goes to market without your signature. You review and sign a licensing agreement before your business is shown to anyone.
- Trade secrets and intellectual property stay yours. Licensing is not a sale. You keep everything.
- Licensing is non-exclusive. The same dataset can be licensed more than once, which means one engagement is not one payment.
The honest part
This market will not pay in two years what it pays today.
Demand is high right now because the AI labs are moving into enterprise work all at once and everyone needs the same thing at the same time. That will normalize. Every data market has.
We tell every business this before they decide, because the alternative is a company signing on the strength of what a neighbor got last year and being disappointed. We would rather have the harder conversation and keep the relationship.
If you are considering this at all, the timing question is worth answering now rather than later.
For advisors and fiduciaries
If you are running a process.
We work with trustees, receivers, business brokers, and counsel handling dissolutions, forbearance, and bankruptcies.
Operational knowledge is an asset that rarely appears on a schedule, has no obvious buyer, and is routinely written to zero. It is frequently worth recovering, and the window does not stay open indefinitely after operations stop.
We are accustomed to working inside a process, on its timeline, with the discretion it requires.
Our story
Founded by operators, for operators.
American Business Advocates was founded by two American business owners who have built and continue to operate companies in manufacturing, in physical products, and in services.
Everything this firm does, they had to do first inside their own businesses. Work out what the technology actually changes and what it does not. Sort the handful of things that deserved attention from the enormous volume that did not. Find out what any of it was worth.
They found there was no one whose job it was to help a company their size do that well, at a price that made sense. So they made it their job.
We keep a low profile by design. Our clients’ situations are confidential. Backgrounds and references are available in conversation.
The wider stake
An industrial base that sits out this transition does not only lose margin. It loses standing.
Other nations are working hard to lift up their own businesses while limiting access for ours. China in particular is doing an extraordinary job of it.
Helping American businesses navigate into this future is, to us, a matter of American strength and security. We think the way to do it is one company at a time, starting with getting them paid for what they already own.
